I'M USING RETIN-A, CAN I STILL GET MY BROWS DONE?
Absolutely. Retin-A users, along with those who use other prescription skincare, or OTC retinoids, acids, or other intense skincare products, are usually not good candidates for waxing. Good news is, we can take care of your brows in other ways. Our precision tweeze and trim service gives the same effect as our waxing service, and costs the same. Just book a "Brow Arch"!
WHY DON'T YOU OFFER MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a form of permanent makeup and is usually a lifetime commitment. I generally only recommend microblading to those with medical conditions which prevent them from growing brow hair. For almost everyone else, a brow growth serum, a brow tint, a good shaping, and a little bit of patience can get you the brows you want naturally. WHAT IS A LASH LIFT?
Plainly put, a Lash Lift is a perm for your eyelashes. It turns your lashes up at the base, giving the semi-permanent effect of curled lashes. As lashes shed in about a 6 week cycle, Lash Lifts last for quite a while, and don't damage the lashes. Lash lifts require no maintenance and are a fantastic alternative to extensions.
WHAT SHOULD/SHOULDN'T I DO BEFORE AND AFTER A LASH LIFT?
Before a Lash Lift, don't wear waterproof mascara 48 hours beforehand, or any mascara 12 hours beforehand. Remove mascara the night before, and come in with bare lashes to your appointment. After a lash lift, you cannot get them wet or touch them for 24 hours. No water, no mascara, no nothing.
WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept cash and all major credit cards. No checks, please. We also have gift cards available, and are not opposed to bartering.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS? CAN I JUST WALK IN?
We're typically open every other Monday, every Tuesday and Thursday, and every third or fourth Saturday. Weekday hours are usually 10-8, with Saturdays 10-5. We are by appointment only, so we're not guaranteed to be open during those hours. You are welcome to walk in, but we can't promise we'll be able to take you. Booking an appointment is recommended.
CAN MEN BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
Absolutely. Every gender is welcome at Brow Haus: Lash & Brow Studio.
WHAT DO YOU DO WITH MY SPOOLIE AFTER EACH SERVICE?
Spoolies, which are the little disposable mascara wands used during brow and lash services, cannot be re-used on other clients due to sanitary reasons. Because of this, instead of just throwing them away, we collect them all and donate them to Wands For Wildlife, where they can be put to good use.
HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BETWEEN SERVICES?
Brow services usually last about 3-4 weeks, while lash services typically last for about 6-8. We have some brow clients who come every 2 weeks, and some lash clients who only come right before vacation, so no matter what your needs are, we'll accommodate what's right for you.
CAN I SWIM, SHOWER, WORK OUT, ETC AFTER A LASH LIFT?
Of course! As long as you keep your lashes dry for 24 hours, you can do whatever you like. If swimming, use goggles. If showering, keep your face dry and wash it at the sink, using a damp wash cloth to remove cleanser instead of splashing it off. If working out, a sweat band is always an option.
MY LASHES ARE SHORT AND THIN, CAN I STILL GET A LASH LIFT?
Absolutely! The results of a Lash Lift depend entirely on the lashes you have at the start of your appointment. If you have shorter, finer lashes, your lift may not be as striking as someone with dense, long lashes. But don't worry! We have the perfect solution: GrandeLASH-MD, an award winning lash growth serum. A few weeks on this and your lashes will be sky high!
WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE DURING YOUR SERVICES?
We use Satin Smooth waxing products, their Zinc Oxide soft wax, natural muslin strips, FUR after-wax products, Elleebana lash lift products, Hair Pearl lash and brow tint products, and various makeup products.
DO YOU OFFER THREADING?
Threading is not regulated by the NC State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners, is difficult to do in a sanitary manner, and is painful for both technician and client. We do not offer this service.
I ALWAYS BREAK OUT AFTER WAXING, CAN YOU HELP?
Absolutely! We have a treatment that can help. Ask us about our High Frequency treatment.
I WANT MY BROWS TO BE PERFECTLY SYMMETRICAL, IS IT POSSIBLE?
Brows are sisters, not twins! We do everything we can to make sure your brows are even, but with hair growth patterns differing between brows, brows sitting differently on either side of the face, etc, it's not always possible to get them identical to one another. We're happy to talk to you about what your options are before performing a service, just book a 'Service Consultation'.
I'M RECOVERING FROM A BAD BROW JOB FROM ANOTHER SALON, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Most importantly, leave them alone. Do not touch! Come to us for a consultation and pick up some GrandeBROW, our award winning brow growth serum. Give them time, be patient, and let them grow back in. When they are ready, we'll take it from there.
DO YOU OFFER LASH EXTENSIONS?
At this time, we do not offer lash extensions. This is something we might offer in the future, but until then, if you're looking for a reputable lash extension artist in the area, Taylor Rose at Lash Etiquettes is the best in the business.
WHY ARE YOUR POLICIES SO STRICT?
My policies are in place to protect my income. I'm not only a small business owner and brow extraordinaire, but a mom as well. When people no-show, cancel late, etc, it disrupts my income, which is what feeds my child. In short, don't mess with mama bear. If you want me to respect your brows, please respect my time.
WHY ARE YOUR PRICES SO MUCH HIGHER THAN OTHER PLACES?
Our prices not only reflect the time it takes to perform your service, but the many years we spent practicing our craft, all the education we've invested in, and the experience we've gained along the way. Our Brow Arch may only take 20 minutes to perform, but it took 15 years to perfect.
I NEED MY BROWS DONE IN THE NEXT 5 MINUTES, BUT YOU'RE BOOKED SOLID! WHAT DO I DO?!
Sometimes we get booked out weeks and months in advance. It's always worth it to call and ask if we've had any last minute cancellations, but if we can't fit you in and you just can't wait, please call us for a reference. We know who to trust your brows to, so if we can't do it ourselves, we'll make sure to connect you with someone amazing in the area.
